Unlike other dual USB batteries that simply designates “high power” 10W USB port (for iPad/tablet charging) and “low power” 5W USB port(for iPhone/smartphone charging),
HyperJuice Plug intelligently distributes and delivers the maximum power to individual devices irregardless of which USB port they are plugged to.

Why choose HyperJuice?
HyperJuice battery packs are designed by engineers with vast experiences in developing industrial portable power solutions for demanding medical and military applications. Unlike most battery packs in the market that use consumer grade components and battery cells, HyperJuice uses only the top medical/military grade AA battery cells and industry leading, high performance power management solution from Linear Technology Inc. While most of our competitors graduate from making low capacity battery packs for iPhone/smartphone to more complicated and larger battery packs for tablets/laptops, HyperJuice already has a long tradition being the only company capable of making high performance, high capacity battery packs for Apple MacBooks. We now bring this amazing technology to smaller batteries for powering iPhone, iPad, smartphones and tablets.

Great idea! But… Works as advertised. Will charge two different devices simultaneously and it figures how much juice to pump to each one. Very nice. Holds quite a reserve of power so you can use it several times before it needs to be recharged. That’s where it lost a star. The “slide out” plug is sort of flimsy and awkward to connect to anything. It’s too heavy to just plug into a wall socket, as it falls out. If you prop it just right, it’ll stay connected to an extension cord and charge that way. With a little more engineering thought into Version 2, to fix this problem, it’ll be fully 5 stars!

Do Your Research! I researched many external, portable batteries and the HJ Plug seemed like a good one. Keep in mind how batteries work and think about what you intend to use it for, as it will make a big difference in what you should buy. I bought this for primarily charging an iPad 4 (2x), iPhone 5 (2x) and a 1st gen iPad. Having tried it both ways, meaning as a charger and as an “extender” – the product did not live up to some of the hype out there as it simply cannot fully charge one iPad 4 before dying and as an extender I was not able to see use that was 13 hours for an iPad 4 (although I did not try it from a 100% charge on the iPad 4). It appears it is best to use the HJ Plug as an “extender” by plugging it into your iPad (or whatever) while it still has juice or it is full, but that is not always the case in the charging world as far as my use was concerned. I thought Sanho could have explained this better, but the charger comes with no manual and the website is pretty devoid of info…
